Plum starter kit Coil in Canada: the compare shortlist
Plum in Canada: 16 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Canada.
Choosing a starter kit for plum
Plum prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Canada that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within CA$3.52 per 10 ml.
Plum sounds like one product. It is not: a starter kit running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 16 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a plum starter kit really costs in Canada
If you are looking at plum in Canada, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested plum in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 3–6 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Canada, which is 20 mg/mL for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 3–6 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a plum bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where plum goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plum in Canada survives.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised CA$54 entry kit as the real cost when refills run CA$3.52 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Canada: about CA$3.52 per 10 ml liquid plus CA$54 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does plum taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the plum blend itself harsh.
