Sour box mod Coil in Canada: the order shortlist
Sour in Canada: 21 units tested over 6 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Canada.
Coil life, liquid cost and the sour habit
The honest read on sour: 21 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Sour prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Canada that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within CA$3.36 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 21 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a sour box mod really costs in Canada
Sour sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running 20 mg/mL will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested sour in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 3–6 business days.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is 20 mg/mL in Canada, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 3–6 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where sour goes wrong
- Mixing sour with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised CA$67 entry kit as the real cost when refills run CA$3.36 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long sour in Canada survives.
The rules that apply here
Health Canada caps nicotine at 20 mg/mL and requires child-resistant packaging.
Retail sales in Canada sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is 20 mg/mL. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
